Our Story

Our journey commenced as a family business, led by a father and his three sons, each driven by a deep-rooted passion that has been nurtured across generations of dedicated farmers. The sons, who were accomplished engineers working abroad, made a conscious choice to leave their lucrative careers behind and return to Sri Lanka. Their mission? To carry forward their father’s enduring legacy.

Today, our farm is powered by a team of highly skilled professionals, well-versed in poultry science and dedicated to continuous research and development. We take immense pride in our transformation from a humble family endeavour to an integral part of a thriving business group. We are honoured to operate alongside shareholders who share our unwavering commitment to our shared vision.

Our Location

Our farm is nestled in Rugam, also known as Urukamam, within the Eastern Province of Sri Lanka, just a mere 10 miles west of the Chenkallady junction. Rugam carries a poignant history as a former war zone, a testament to the challenges the region endured during the civil conflict. However, since the culmination of the war in 2009, this once-battled landscape has blossomed into an idyllic haven, where nature’s abundance flourishes.

Our farm enjoys a picturesque setting by the shores of Rugam Lake. The soil here, enriched by the surrounding natural beauty, nourishes our farm birds with the finest natural foods. In addition to our primary location, we have established packaging and storage facilities strategically located in Batticaloa, Kandy, and Colombo. Our administration office, where the heart of our operations beats, resides in the vibrant city of Colombo.

Accreditations & Legal Information

Q Farm is a registered company in Sri Lanka, holding an export license to serve international markets. We possess licenses from local Ministry of Health Offices (MHO) and other district administrative services. Furthermore, we proudly hold the “Registration Certificate of Livestock Farms” from the Department of Animal Production and Health Sri Lanka. As a testament to our commitment to excellence, Q Group is a member of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.
